Magic Camera Privacy Policy
Updated September 21, 2026
Developer: 程钰兴 (Cheng Yuxing). Contact: chengyuxingo@gmail.com. This policy applies to the Magic Camera iPhone app, listed in Simplified Chinese as “Magic Camera - 实时艺术相机”.
On-device image processing
Magic Camera processes filter effects on your device. It does not upload camera frames, photos, videos or audio to developer servers or use cloud AI to process your work. The app requires no account and contains no advertising, cross-app tracking or third-party analytics SDKs.
System permissions
Camera access enables preview, photography and video recording. Microphone access records sound for videos and Live Photo clips; you can still capture without audio if you decline. Add-only Photos access is used only when you choose to save to your photo library. The app does not need access to your entire photo library and does not request location or contacts access. You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
Local captures and preferences
Photos, videos, Live Photos, thumbnails and filter preferences are stored locally in the app. The app checks available storage to reduce capture failures caused by insufficient space. It does not automatically send this information to the developer. The operating system may back up app data according to your backup settings, subject to Apple's services and privacy policy.
Deleting a capture in the app does not delete copies previously exported to Photos. Deleting the app removes its local captures and preferences from the device. Export important work first. The local library is not a cloud backup.
You control saving and sharing
By default, captures stay in the app. Only when you choose Save to Photos or use the system share sheet are copies added to Photos or sent to the apps, services or recipients you choose. Recipients handle that data under their own policies.
Purchases and payments
Pro purchases and restoration are handled by Apple's App Store. The app uses StoreKit to verify the product, purchase date and entitlement status to unlock features. The developer does not receive your bank card number or full payment credentials through the app and does not upload transactions to a developer-run server. Apple processes payments, store transactions and related data under its privacy policy.
Contacting support
If you email the developer, the developer receives your email address, issue description and attachments solely to help resolve the issue. Do not send passwords, banking details or unnecessary sensitive information; redact private content in attachments first. Support emails and attachments are retained only as needed to resolve the issue and meet applicable legal obligations. You can request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information in support emails using the contact address above.
System services and website
Apple may process App Store, purchase and diagnostic information according to your system settings. See Apple's Privacy Policy. The support website is hosted by GitHub Pages and has no analytics scripts or tracking cookies. GitHub may process request logs, IP addresses and other information to provide and protect its hosting service; see the GitHub Privacy Statement. Website hosting is separate from on-device camera processing.
Policy updates and contact
If future features change how personal information is handled, this policy will be updated and notice or consent will be provided where applicable. For privacy questions, contact 程钰兴 (Cheng Yuxing): chengyuxingo@gmail.com.
